Range rover sport

Ive been reading forum posts for over a week now trying to decide if I should buy a rr sport or not

From the amount of posts and faults mentioned

The question is should I really buy one or not

Or should I run a mile seriously ?

Help jwg

Re: Range rover sport

I suppose it depends upon how much cash you can commit to one.
Reliability isn't the only cash drain, running costs can be high.
Warranty, fuel, tyres and VED to name a few.
If you stretch to buy, would you have cash to pay for repairs?

As said before this forum highlights problem cars, those with good ones don't feel the need to mention it although I think there was a thread started on this recently.

I enjoyed certain aspects of mine but would I buy another, probably not.

in my opinion a RRS is the ultimate 4x4, and owning it comes at a price ! I also own a fit wife and she costs me more. My point is, some things are just worth the cost Smile Recently bought a 2007 RRS HSE TDV6 for a Pimp-My-Ride-Project.
DONE: Meduza front bumper, AB rear bumper, AB tailpipes, calipers repainted, rear upper tailgate upgrade, side steps, AB front grille, AB side vents, rear LED lights, clear side repeaters, integrated daytime running lights, LED headlights.
TO DO: color code sills and pillars.

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Atacama Sand

I was hesitant for the same reasons as the OP but went for it in April & bought a new HSE Black Edn

3 months on not regretted it for a second & not a single hint of a problem (hope that's not tempting providence)

My RR Sport never gave me a moments problem, although some of the stories on here would make most people run a mile from anything made by Land Rover!

People love their Landies, all models, from series 1 to F/Fats
The Land Rover Brand has a massive following, loads of technical help & forums, consequently you will always learn about the odd problem or fault.
You drive a Sport, it puts a smile on your face.

Jap-crap stuff is no better you will always find Landrover Enthusiasts, you will not find many Toymota semi milk float Prius enthusiasts around. In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures
Gone - A couple of RRS, A couple of Disco's. However thinking of another Sport.

Agree with other comments, if your stretching yourself to buy one then can you afford to run it?

These things are not cheap when they go wrong, that said, for every one that goes wrong there are plenty that don't, its just that people search for information when they need it and very rarely log onto a forum and start a post called - Everything OK, No Faults to Report Today Laughing

My advice, go for it, even if it does cost you a few quid and you have to look at it on the back of a low loader (I have twice in last 6 months) it will still be the best car you have owned and I wouldn't swap mine for anything..........apart from a MY14 maybe Whistle MY07 TDV6 HSE Stornaway & Ivory

Mods So Far: Side steps - Smoked Side Repeaters - OEM Style Signature LED Front Lights - LED Side Lights - LED Interior Lighting - 2012 Autobigraphy Style Front Grill & Side Vents - 2012 Rear LED Lights

Planned Mods: Paint My Brembo's - Colour Code Mirrors - Rear Interior Light Mod - GVIF

Well done Jwg,
Had mine about 8 months, yeah sure with a 4.2 SC, petrol fuel costs were always gonna be high, and I've just spent out on brakes and my coolant pump and ancillary bits, but, I've not regretted it for a second honest, having a reliable, honest local specialist helps too.
