Scratches

Have a load of scrathches along the length of the car, caused by driving a green lane than wasn't as wide as the RRS - not a good idea. These scratches have not removed any paint or made any indentation but I think I want to remove them.

My question is this. I know T cut will do the job but I've got Supaguard (I think that's its name) on this car so what should I do? 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

I think (and I'm certainly no expert) that I've heard that t-cut takes off the protective finishes such as Supagard etc....

Polish them out - don't worry about Superguard - just keep your car polished regularly. You will probably p/x your car well before you paint starts to look tired ?

Don't use T cut, on the otherside, where this sort of damage is more frequent (never common) G3 cutting compounds have always sorted it, but I don't know what it will do to supaguard.

I am a great believer in Zymol products, for light scratches such as those you get from greenlaning I use the following product : - http://www.zdouk.com/detail.aspx?ID=102 , though I certainly didn't pay £39 for it - Google around and you should find it for less than £20.

I then polish with http://www.zdouk.com/detail.aspx?ID=69 and you get a fantastic showroom finish. You should be able to buy this wax for less than £10 on Ebay.

Though I don't have superguard on this car I have used Zymol on a DiamonBrite treated car with the same success.

Please don;t use T cut, it's evil stuff, strips everything off your paint leaving it totally at the mercy of the elements and will fade and dull so quickly afterwards L319 D4 HSE

Malaysia 2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Chawton White

Sometime back there used to be a Turtle Wax product called "Scratch & Swirl Remover" (or something to that effect). It was quite effective for minor scratches etc. Malaysia Boleh!

As a Zaino user, I have to weigh in on this one also. They have a new product call Z-5 PRO which I have used on "luggage" scratches (you know, when someone in the airport garage finds the bonnet of your car a good place to put their bag while they fumble for keys Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad ) - took the scatches out completely. I've also used a clay bar for small surface scratches - a clay bar(properly lubricated) is far less abrasive than a cutting polish. 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE, Java/Ebony/Cherry, Privacy, Sunroof, PTI, Premium Sound, SatNav, Cold Climate, Tow kit, CarStyle coded grill and vents, Tasmods, Stormers, JE Exhaust, Autobiography badge

Basically any abrasive product will take off the Supagaurd Sad

Zymol and Swissol are a much better way of looking after your paintwork for if you get any scratches you can easily remove them and re-apply that area again.

Supagaurd is just a paint sealer whereas Swissol will make the paintwork look better than when new Smile
