Is the diesel frustrating?

Considering a TDV6 ( and as per my previous post - this is my first 4x4)

I appreciate the car won't have the awesome acceleration of the SC. However, I am a little worried that I will be frustrated at slow starts, especially at junctions and islands. Is the TDV6 really a good option for town driving (apart fromn the advantage of better mpg). How have you diesel owners been getting along ? Thank you

I'm finding out diesel is getting faster and faster! It has now done 5200 miles and performs well. It doesn't feel slow and is now eager to shoot off at junctions. It now feels much metter than it did when it was new.
Get the diesel - it isn't a slow car at all. Matt

Not one bit,
I agree with mpwox11, it seems to feel better the more miles you do.
Have not driven anything petrol engined wise for a while except an AMG Merc and while it was fun I was glad to get back to rality and into my TDV6. Its out there somewhere. Second V10 Treg on the drive at the moment.

On the TD because the torque starts a few hundred revs above tickover, it will actually take off very fast and create quite a neck pull.

One of the problems I found was making a smooth start with the electronic handbrake on. I've now got it down to two options, one a slow start followed by acceleration, the other is press down and release the brake first.
