Hi , my spare has been stolen, I'm unsure of what size tyre to get? Currently car has 295/30/22 on, my friend is selling a 255/55/19 spare.... My question is if I have to use the spare in emergency, would I have suspension problems, warning lights etc? Or would it be ok to use for a very short while?
Would be grateful if anyone could advise on best spare tyre size for 22's? As obviously can't get a 22 in the spare wheel well.

By my calculation your mates spare would be 1 inch smaller across the diameter. Although this isn't ideal in theory it's only a tiny bit different to what LR have as standard when the car comes with 20 inch wheels. This is because the spare your mate has is what LR use. I think though...... The closer you can get to the same diameter the better. You are right about suspension adjustment but also the diff as the spare will spin at a different speed.

Would you say a no to that wheel then? What tyre size would anyone recommend if not? Just know if I don't sort it soon.. The inevitable will happen.. Sod's law!

I do have that wheel size for my spare, although i have 20" wheels. This difference is probably less than 5mm from my combo. I'm not sure what to advise mate. Maybe some of the guys with 22" wheels could comment on what they use?
