Isn't it electrically deployable on the new RRS.......not that that justifies £2k Neutral ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

Hi BC, Yes it is electrically deployable but it is also electrically deployable on the FFRR and costs £810 so really cant see how they can justify £2088 Sad Dave.

There has to be a point when customers will say enough is enough... Shocked And at the price of that tow bar would be the point where i would say stuff it and stick to the current model. I can think of better things to do with 2k and it wouldn't be paying for a tow bar. They really are going to price themselves out of the market. Whistle There is no way i would pay more for less because thats what you are now doing with the new sport. Mr. Green

I agree Ady,

Reading these recent posts has made me glad I bought what and when I did. Hopefully things will have smoothed out buy the time I come to trade mine in because they do look a lovely car. 2013 (13.5MY) RRS HSE Black | Causeway Grey | Privacy | Ivory & Ebony | Grand Black Lacquer | Style 7 Alloys | AWESOME

So it's dealer fit electrics......with all due respect, that has to be asking for trouble surely Shocked ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

It's very likely just a case of plugging it into a connector in the existing loom. A dealer quoted £2400 for installing deployable steps in the new FFRR, which ties up with the £2160 RRS Exterior Styling configurator price

Dealer fit electrics (13 Pin or black/white) are different to the entire electric tow bar, which i suspect is the £2k price

Bottom line - i didnt want to pay £120 - so £500 is excessive.

I agree with the posts above, enough is enough - low standard spec, high price options, crazy number of options and increase overall price...im glad that its helped me to be 90% sure my next car will not be a sport and glad i have a 13MY

This is a real shame Mike

Is it a canbus system? If so then the electrics will be a massive nightmare for an after market company to copy although I'm in agreement with everyone else that the price is quite high 10 TDV8 Santorini

They're charging £72 for a 3t tow rope, sorry - recovery strap, so they probably think £2k (plus fitting) is reasonable for the tow bar. I wonder how much they charge for recovery points to be fitted to the vehicle - I assume they're no longer a standard item either along with the transfer box... Big Cry

LR really are having a laugh with this vehicle. I think they've decided that it's rich yahoos and footballers who buy them so "we'll charge silly money for things because we can". 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

It appears that the reason the tow bar might be so pricey is because it uses 2 new subframes as part of the install. See http://topix.landrover.jlrext.com/topix/co...tabs=false

So where the old RRS had the mounting point built in to the chassis, the new one doesn't. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
