EVERYWHERE !

God damn - there like GATSO's = Bloody Everywhere Big Cry

Had to blast off up the M1 this afternoon with Mrs MDP + Jnr. From Nuneaton we went to Tankersley Manor south Yorkshie [ jctn 36 ] and having only just joined the M1 from the M69 I was tailgated by anothe Java Black ........... after some time - let it pass - only an SE spec with a Supercharged front grill Evil or Very Mad

Then..... must have spotted at least another 10 or so Black/Silvers/Rimini

Finally arrived - it was the latest DVLA Auction [ 2nd day ] ......... pull into car park and theres 2 more Shocked ...... like bloomin ants........

Big Cry that exclusive feeling is starting to fade Sad

But they all look so good. Esp with some of the nice plates that were on them.

BUT - there was one that looked ....... well..... just wrong ! Bling Wheels , over blacked out windows & illegal number plates that looked hideous - no class if you know what I mean = tasteless. Didn't bother with photos as too embarrassed with too many people wondering around, sorry Embarassed

This was my 1st time at an auction - what a great experience & some serious money being spent ie.

786 L = £4100

LAB 3L = £2100

LEE 1S = 4500

222 LEE = £4900

28 M =£ 14200

MA55 ONS = £5000

77 MA = £8600

65 MAT = £4800

69 MAX = £6000

MAS 500D = £7000

75 MD = £4900

This is just a slection from the times that we were actually sitting in the auction room. Talking to a dealer I asked him " what is the most you have paid for a plate ? " " £126k " he replied Shocked This day he was bidding on behalf of several wealthy clients inc. this reg MAY 846H Confused yes I had to look at it several times before the penny dropped it was to go on a MAYBECH ....... crazy!

Yesterday AUD 17T went for over £6000 for a woman & her TT Rolling Eyes

It was nice to see some really happy family type people bid as well . inc Mrs MDP who was so eleated with our purchase that the auction manager asked if smelling salts were going to be needed Rolling with laughter

I now have a matching pair........

MDP *** Which I bought privately way back in 1981
*** MDP Which we got today [ both with identical tripple numbers ]

A great afternoon out - a real experience - heart stopping at times but well worth it = RESULT Very Happy

Belgium 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black

Congrats MPD on the plate - sounds like the auction was fun. I'm glad the RRS is still relatively rare in Belgium - relative to the XC90's, X5's and Touareg's (all ubiquitous) - you see about as many RRS as you do FF Range Rovers - most in this small "farming" community where we live.

Drove to Italy last week and saw very few along the way - here in Umbria, the Jeep Grand Cherokee seems to be the most popular big SUV car otherwise, it's RAV4's and the like. The Volvo is showing it's "softroader" weakness as it struggles without a low gear up the steep 4km white road to our hilltop villa. JW 1...what WERE you thinking.

Do you have any idea how much that would cost!!!

I did nearly go for two matching plates last year, they went for about £6k each. I think they were 66 AW and 66 JW. Kinda wish I had now. L319 D4 HSE
