don't seem to be able to spec the SE with 5+2 with 22 inch wheels it wants to put them down a size or two

also no Terrain response 2 either, so i guess SE = No Low Range Sad

Thats an improvement - do you chose the specification of the passengers as well? TDV8 HSE, Remap (+45 BHP + 100 Nm), Taylored sport exhaust system by Pipe Werx

Looking at the new RRS, I think it will have to be the full fat for me. Oh dear. How to break the news to the missus? Or perhaps I just take out a huge loan, order it and then ask for forgiveness claiming a mid-life crisis. L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso
RRS TDV6 HSE Lux (MY2011)... Nara Bronze / Arabica - now gone!

Maybe it's just me but I followed a 61 plate RRS home just now and have to say it just looked classy. The new one IMHO just looks blobby and dis-proportioned - like the Ewock and the new FF Whistle FF 4.4 V8 Soooo looking forward to this bad boy
Ex 2006 RRS SC - garbage
Ex 2016 135i M Sport - dream car
Ex 2003 RS6 Avant - piece of cr*p
Ex 2014 320d X Drive, M Sport Touring - ok I guess
Ex 2007 RRS TDV8 - bloody loved it
EX 2007 FL2 XS - not so bad

I have strange tastes, as I don't like the styling of the Evoque or the new RRS but I love the new FFRR. Just have to wait patiently till they fall in my price range Big Cry 2014 L405 SDV8 RR Autobiography Cool

As I said in a previous post - LR have taken the RRS into X5, Q7 and XC90 territory. At the end of this year both BMW and Volvo will be launching completely new X5 And XC90 and with their quality controls and build quality I will wait and see what these new vehicle look like and handle like before making a decision on buying (a very expensive) RRS.

Looks like LR just made the current car a very desirable used buy. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

1. It is very, very ugly
2. It is all wheel drive as opposed to 4 wheel drive in basic trim (lack of proper low range transfer box)
3. The interior is not radically different - such as large LCD screen control?
4. No sign of a V8 diesel - same asmatic V6

But....

1. It is a lot lighter
2. It has a 7 seat configuration

Given the price increase it does not seem a very compelling offer and styled too much like its competitors. It has reverted to the 'Chelsea tractor' stereotype and no doubt will do well on the streets of west London. I'm not sure the design leaves much space for the rumoured Evoque XL.

I will test drive one but its handling has to be miles ahead of the current RRS (which even given the weight reduction I doubt it is) to make it worth consideration. The attraction of the current RRS seems to be lost - a true off road performer (yes I use low range a lot) plus acceptable, or even good handling at speed in comfort.

I think LR are risking their whole USP with the new range of look alike, heavily styled cars... Or perhaps have worked out it is better economics to join the crowd (BMW, Volvo, Lexus) than try to be different.... Then again 'sweating the brand' is often the preferred business plan of new owners?
