United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Santorini Black
Intro (whilst awaiting TDV6)

Hi all

I've been reading the forum for a few months, and as the deposit day is just about upon us, thought an intro was apt.

Presently driving a 3 month old Porsche Cayman S, but it just isnt doing it for me, so thats up for sale and I'm after a RRS (the car I should of bought last March !!!)

Drove an SC for 3 hours today, followed by a TDV6 for 3 hours. Have to say the SC is fantastic - took it through country roads and motorways and it never faltered. Not sure I can go with the 13mpg though!

I wasnt particularly looking forward to the diesel, but must say I was impressed ! The power is there, if not quite the speed (especially after Porsche - maybe a chip required !). Only thing that worried me was the body roll in cornering.

The dealer has one order slot left for a MY06 TDV6, which I'd order with the Dynamic Pack, or I can order a MY07 car which comes with the DR pack, but not the 20" alloys (£700 option). Once you add the alloys to the 07, or the PTI and DR to the 06 (to match the specs more or less) the price difference is only £500. Both would be available Sept/Oct.

Hmmm. What to do ???

Thanks to all for a great forum - looking forward to being a little part of it.

Re: Intro (whilst awaiting TDV6)

placed my 07MY order 3 weeks ago - found out yesterday that I wont see it until Oct (not Sept as originally advised).

As you probably already know there are a few more extras on the 07MY aswel as std DR.

I guess depends on whether you can wait the extra few weeks

You've waited this long - Personally I would a little longer and go for the 07 model year spec.

Hi Tonser (dont want to misspell that one)

Get the dynamic pack and you wont have any body roll, iv'e had mine a month now and i reckon it will out corner almost any 4x4. If you wait for the 07MY make sure you get the 20" alloys, they really do make the car.

Good luck !st Edition RRS S/C, Black on Black.

RRS HSE, Java, Alpaca, Bluetooth, Dynamic Pack, SC Grill, Black Badges, tints all round.

United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Santorini Black

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.

My decision is made ! I'm going for the MY 06 TDV6 HSE, with the Dynamic Pack, PTI and a sunroof. Colours - Java / Java / Rhodium. Delivery in latter half of September.

If I'd gone for the MY 07 option it would have been an extra £2400 for the 20" alloys, taking the price over £50k. I was also told by two dealers that they dont expect the 07 cars to be delivered before November.

Thanks for the thoughts - I'm sure the site banter and boobies will make the wait more bearable !

Your driving style will alter to suit the car to some degree so don;t be put off with a little roll.

The Sport feels nimble compared to many 4x4s, including the full size range rover L319 D4 HSE

I was thinking about putting Mrs VA in the back of the RRS and testing out the roll and suspension - obviously she would have to be topless to get the full effect !

Now wheres the rumble strip? 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Laughing Trial at the Motorshow, VA? I'll give a hand where necessary! Shocked

RRUK is right, driving style does change to suit the car.

When I ddrive the Beemer, I seriously hustle it.

When I drive the RRS, I chill right down and enjoy the (Firm) ride Thumbs Up

Tonser, you open to trade bids for you're cayman? how quick do you want rid of it? Appreciate you have a while to wait for the RRS, but the Cayman S is still good news right now. Did you not reapproach Guildford OPC for a price, im sure you did, just as im sure they offered you a crap price most probably, looking to make their accustomed £3k minimum margin. I'll have a word around see if i get any bites and at how much for you.
