Okay had my HSE BLACK for just under a month now and impressed so far

One gripe I have is the acceleration from standstill it seems to think about it and then it goes, also when cornering it seems to change into too hgh a gear and struggles to pull away

Also sometimes seem to get some ear popping when driving along, wierd  2013 13.5 MY HSE BLACK with privacy glass, vision assist pack, side steps and ebony headlining

Hi, I'm 1.5 weeks in now and covered about 1,000 miles.....I have to admit (Touch wood!) I don't seem to have noticed this issue.

Admittedly it isn't the quickest from a standing start (Especially coming from a sports car!), but it goes like an express train once I'm at about 20mph and doesn't seem to hunt for gears. I have found though, that if you are "driving" it hard, it's much more responsive if you put it in sport & dynamic mode.

I can't comment on the ear popping.....sorry!  Now

no ear popping here either,,but i do notice the delay your referring to,,its not worrying though,is it??
another thing i have noticed is when your cruising at say 60,,and you want to gently speed up,when you gently push on the accelerator it doesnt seem to speed up smoothly,it wants to drop a gear to do it
i know some cars learn the way you drive and adjust themselves to your driving style,,,but does this mean it thinks i want to drive it hard??

My MY10.5 model which is only 6 speed spends time hunting for gears, usually after lifting the foot and then reapplying for exiting a corner/roundabout, its annoying. My original MY06 2.7 did not show the same traits Another Pommie Bar Steward down under

With the old car, driving it in manual mode, so I guess it's the same for flappy paddle version. 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!

If it changes up just when you want it not to then use the paddles to downshift it and it will eventually learn. My last FFRR had been driven so much in London that when I took it home to Scotland it wouldn't shift up into 6th without intervention from me, by the time I got it back home 475miles later it was happy to change into 6th at 54mph all by itself. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Although i have always had paddles - i assume yours is a 13 like mine? in which case you only have the paddles option...all you need to do is to override the gear changes a few times consistently and it will learn your style.

So mine has learnt in 8th for example. i might only push the accelerator a little (eg on the motorway), i dont want it to change down to 7th - i want it to remain in 8th and just add a bit of power...to make it learn, whenever it would change down in that scenario I gave the + paddle a quick flick to 8th and then return to D - took 3 times and it now responds as i want.

Another example, When slowing down, i hit the - to get the change down where i want...now it does that.

Takes a bit of time. Mike
