Tracker systems...

Hi Guys,

I know there are a few parallel topics about this....but i just wondered if anybody had any up-to-date prices on Land Rovers range of trackers and how long it takes to fit them.

Cheers,

Tracker monitored, £500 odd to fit, half a day to fit and can be transferred to new owner. Down side is you can't track and trace which doesn't bother me as I am only one that drives the car. We have Trackstar on all work vehicles, still insurance approved but you can log on and see all the data, where, how fast etc 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!
Now rolling in MY10 Fullfat TDV8 Vogue. Slammed it to go round corners🙈
Cruising daily #56 mph in a Volvo V8. 😱
Lots of other toys in the cupboard...😜

That's great thanks....i popped into LR today and opted to have them fit the Trackstar one!

Typically when i checked with my insurer when i ordered the car i didn't need a tracker, but they changed their mind when i phoned yesterday to arrange for collection on Friday.... Censored Now

Different companies require different criteria. Some do it on value, some on type of vehicle and some on postcode cars kept at. With rise in break ins for keys, postcode in a posh area rings alarms in insurance circles Whistle 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

From a few contacts i have in the insurance sector it seems most insurers are starting to make it a requirement for "premium brands" over £50k. So something to be aware of as it's only going to go one way! Rolling Eyes Now

That was the case, but seems to be reversing now. You tend to find the extra for a tracker is more than paying an enhanced premium Mike

Fingers crossed it does start to reverse.....but the problem i have had was the sheer number of insurers refusing to cover me at an acceptible level on a brand new RRS without a tracker....... and the enhanced premiums were well over the extra cost of the tracker!

Which frankly i didn't expect, especially for a 30 year old chap with 10 years no claims! Exclamation Now

When i first had a sport most insurance companies wanted a tracker, but over the last couple of years (just renewed my sport insurance...which is only 6 months old) most didnt want a tracker. Mike

Have to agree the tide seems to be changing on trackers with ins companies. I've just stopped my subscription as my new insurance company didn't want a tracker and they confirmed it wouldn't make a difference to the premiums if I had one anyway. Three years ago I couldn't get a sensible premium without one.

Also have a group 20 weekend toy and have just insured that without one too Thumbs Up FF 4.4 V8 Soooo looking forward to this bad boy

MSE - i would have thought it could only be age....I'm am a Company Director and live in the middle of the countryside (Safest insurer rated area), behind remotely operated gates, with multiple CCTV cameras and a couple of dogs!
Even the folks get lost finding the place, so little chance of theft! Thumbs Up

Either way.....it's all sorted now, so i can look forward to collecting the car tomorrow morning! It just cost a bit more than i expected! lol Now
