IMHO, it was classic England - we've never dominated in World Cup games - defence was pretty solid and Rooney had a great game considering he was up front on his own (3 on 1)

Yeh i see what they are trying to do get on the floor and hope to get a free kick or what not. But if they stop all that Censored and play proper football they may actually score some good goals. RRS TDV6 Gone but still around

Jay - thats the whole problem - IMHO, we just never seem to gel as a team at the beginning of any World Cup - we need to claw our way through by any means possible to the Qtrs' - by this time we do actually start playing well together - if that means the odd over stretched injury to get a 2 mins rest then so be it - its the results that matter IMHO

I think that when we play a so called lesser team we struggle because said team will tend defend. When we come across an Italy, Portugal etc we have more space to play because that team wants to attack. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

yep, a good point

I kept thinking about how the Dutch and Portugese fans must have felt yesterday - they Portugese must be quite worried at the moment

same could have been said for the the Rugby World Cup - we went into the comp with a mediocre team, however won - I still feel England have a chance

Disagree about the Rugby World Cup - the team was about 3 months past its peak when we won that but were still the strongest team. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
