Voila!

The lamp/bulb circled in red is what I'm on about Smile They actually seem to be called "Driver/Passenger Approach Lamps".

There are three types of powerfold mirrors

  • Non-Memory Pack Heated
  • Memory Pack Heated
  • Memory Pack Heated with Approach Lamps
..and obviously LH/RH Smile Like this site? Buy some RRSPORT goodies to show your support!

Martin, very awesome!!!!!

I have a US spec'd HSE with lux pkg which has the climate package.

I dont have the courtesy lights in my mirrors but I do have the memory seats/mirrors... so I guess mine would be:

MEMORY PACK HEATED...

However, If I can do this, I might just get the best out there WITH the approach lamps...

So pricing for both types.... please???

Thanks in advance!!! I would need all parts needed for the retrofit.

Can anyone with a S/C have a look underneath their mirrors and see what's there?

The turning illumination lights are not these, they look like sidelights that switch on when you turn the wheel, not sure if it is only when the light condition is low though, as I am normally behind the wheel! The only way I know this is because my mum told me one of my lights wasn't working... I tried to explain the technology but it was a losing battle. Crying or Very sad

As far as the underside of the door mirror is concerned, each one has a flush fitting clear lamp, they come on when you unlock/lock the car, they are there to illuminate puddles before you open the door, then you can use the door mounted puddle lights.

See pic below Arrow Sorry it's out of focus, was raining at the time so I didn't hang about.

I too have these on my supercharged..... very useful.

The turning illumination lights I presume are part & parcel of the adaptive xenon haedlamps

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

On the original spec for the current Range Rover the integrated wing mirror lights were called puddle flood lights.................. but I notice that in RRUK's spec lists those are already listed, so that could be the technical name for them. Some of the very early big Range Rovers had the puddle lamps fitted in the base of the doors rather than in the mirrors (my TD6 SE had them there) 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I actually find them to be pretty darn useful, they illuminate the floor right where you step into the car, just as they should, whereas previous pre-L322 Range Rover puddle lights were a bit limp I found, and, only worked once the door was opened, by which time you have had to step in the puddle to open it! L319 D4 HSE

antics22 or grommet or…

There was some discussion of retrofitting the UK version of the powerfold side mirrors to a US spec RRS. Do you know if anyone had success with that? I am sure many US spec owners would jump at the opportunity to do that if possible.

I would also be interested as someone at the factory forgot to fit this option to mine and with a narrow garage entrance I am in the same position.

If any knows of a retrofit then I would at least be able to go back to my dealer and let him know.....he's currently enquiring with the Land Rover factory Question cheers

My mirrors don't have the puddle lights fitted. The puddle lights are at the bottom of all four doors and the boot so that you can still see the puddle when you open the door Exclamation Which I think is actually better. TDV6 - gone
TDV8 - gone

Only one problem with this, if you are approaching the vehicle, you would be standing in the puddle before your puddle light illuminates it.

I think the Land Rover designers have missed a trick here, all of our vehicles should have these extra courtesy lights. It is after all a nice little gadget. Arctic Frost TDV6 SE. Aspen Leather, Cherry Wood, Privacy Glass, PTI, Tow Pack, Mudflaps, Tasmods, a new Fuelflap, a RRSport.co.uk umbrella in the boot & a RRSport.co.uk sticker on the rear glass.

These are also handy for not stepping out of your car into a massive pothole when there's no streetlights either. Believe me, I know from experience Wink
