hard brake pedal,car wont start.

Got in to start the RR the other day and the pedal felt very hard, so with foot on the brake it would not start. In the end i pushed the pedal really hard and then the car started and pedal went back to normal. Any one had this happen?. SVR 2018 in Santorini Black.

Had you pressed it with the ignition off ?

I'm sure someone posted very recently with a similar problem (ah, yes they did, here) although not much conclusion was drawn. Confused ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

Probably a software issue. The car will not start unless the brake pedal is pressed xx%.

Freelander 2 had a similar issue on manual cars, they would not start unless the clutch pedal was pressed right to the floor, so it was "fixed" by applying a software update, to reduce this level to around 75% IIRC

Sign of a faulty brake pedal switch? I've seen threads where the solution was to replace the brake pedal switch so it might be a fairly common problem. That or a faulty rear brake bulb Laughing

A rock hard brake pedal is soemthing to do with the brake pedal/servo...just like when its off if you press the pedal

I could think of a number of potential reasons why...but its difficult to know which one is likely Mike

Have the same issue. Every morning the pedal feels very hard. Have to press really hard. My disco 4 didn't do that at all. Complaint to local dealer, but they weren't very helpfull.

Thought I was the only one. My initial thoughts are something to do with the booster losing pressure.

Interesting to see what other have to say.. RRS supercharged MY2012
