BLUETOOTH - PARROT CK3100

When I bought the car a few weeks ago the seller said "the RRS bluetooth doesn't work so I had to fit the Parrot 3100".
I am really not very keen on add-ons.
The display/controller is stuck in the corner at the bottom of the A post. It really looks tacky.
And the microphone is up by the mirror - which occasionally makes the plastic tims fall off Embarassed
But of course it is technically a very good bit of kit.

Now of course the RRS Bluetooth most certainly DOES work and it actually sounds quite good using my HTC Desire.
It pairs automatically every time but of course no phonebook etc. ( I can pair with the Parrot as well).
What I am considering doing is taking out the Parrot, selling that and getting the Bluetooth module updated by Wiggs - assuming he is still doing this. I would be grateful for any thoughts and advice from the forum members on the pros and cons of this please before I take the plunge.

Taking the Parrot out will require removing the radio to disconnect the cabling - I'm used to doing this with a P38 but the RRS is all new to me - is there a sticky idiots guide to getting the radio out please? Current: MY15 RRS2 3.0 SDV6 Autobiography Dynamic, Aruba Gold, HUD, Meridian 1700w

Well worth getting the latest bluetooth module from Wiggs Thumbs Up Getting the radio out is easy,as you just pull the 2 plastic trim pieces off starting from the bottom. The plastic trim under the sat nav screen will come off aswell and then you can see the screws that hold it in.
If you want to see a video, google or youtube powerfull uk.

Sorry cannot help with 2010 I'm afraid Big Cry

Just a plug for Wiggs. Excellent service thank you. You could actually fit it without removing the side panel if careful.

The instructions are excellent.

My wife's Motorola Jewel paired up easily straight away.
My HTC Desire is very fussy anyway and of course I forgot to depair to the original module, Embarassed but it's all working now.

When I have finished fitting the side steps I will then tackle removing the Parrot. Current: MY15 RRS2 3.0 SDV6 Autobiography Dynamic, Aruba Gold, HUD, Meridian 1700w
