Wanted = Range Rover "CLASSIC" diecast model 1:43

I am trying to collect for a display cainet, all the cars that my Dad has owned over the years [ for his 70th b'day ]

I am struggling to locate a nice Range Rover Classic 3.9 - his was an 89/90 on a G plate - I believe the ceased production in 1994.

EXAMPLE

His car was in Westminster Grey.

I have emailed LR to see if they can help? As I did notice that the Factory Experience centre had plenty of models on display - but I was too busy thinking about Sports all day ......

To fit the display case and marry up with the other models it will need to be a scale of 1:43. I have also checked ebay a million times Crying or Very sad

Please Help Bow down

Martin,

I also had a 1989 G plate Vogue and would love a model of that era. I bought some models from a shop in Haarlem, Holland a couple of months back and the quality is superb.

The only ones I recall seeing of the latter day vogue 4 dr was a pewter one, they sold it at the Heritage motor museum and I think Simmonites (see LRO) sell them too.

http://simmonites.com/Gifts.htm

They are made by Corgi in the Vanguards range 1:43 scale.

try here:

I also have a 1980 Range Rover Vogue 2 dr (the first vogue ever made) model and that is also in 1:43 scale. It is made by ixo models ( www.ixomodels.com)

here it is:

The modern version looks like this:

Cheers Adam ,

I have managed to locate the earlier version - light blue 1980 2 door vogue. A superb model .

Lets see if/what LR come back with as I have emailed them as well.

Can't believe no one has done a version from this era Confused

From what I have seen Martin, they do runs of a model and it quickly goes out of production. The Vanguards range seem to be doing runs of various Police forces Range Rover L322 models, I have the Lancashire Constabulary one.

You're right though, wouldn't it be nice to find a manufacturer who could make the year/model you wanted and even put your plate on it for the final touch?

If only.....

I know a place that does the P38 shape in various colours if you want to know...

The 1980 RR Vogue 2 Dr is superb, even the tyre treads are correct, the original Michelin XM+S pattern. I remember them from my dad's cars over the years. I knew someone who had that exact car, the two tone side stripe was very radical in those days! The only incorrect part I have noticed is the front seats, they should be the older style with the very first headrests, but they have used a later 1984 Vogue seat pattern...oh well, can't have everything! L319 D4 HSE

RRUK and Martin, try this guy. David Mitchell runs the modelshop for Land Rover Enthusiast Mag and also owns the Snowdonia LR Experience Centre. If he hasn't got a model, it either isn't available or he will point you in the right direction. If you go to any of the Land Rover shows over the summer he usually has a stand at them all.

No he was into sourcing high performance cars and property. An example of his spending was a rolex that he had the strap covered in diamonds with saphires on the face spelling no1, so that when he looked at the time he could see what he was Rolling with laughter He was also injecting himself with some anti aging stuff at a grand every day or 2 and by looking at him plenty of steroids too. Everything had a price but no taste if you get my drift!! I don't watch much telly and I can't work out why I watched it really. It was very funny. The only one who seemed in control was Billie Fury (?) ex wife/widow who didn't care about the money it seemed but obviously had got used to it. She bought 2 Bently Coupes in 10 minutes!!

Tim/Adam,

Thanks for all the info - the post office are very busy at the moment delivering little packages on a daily basis - in my quest to accumulate a model for each car owned by my dad. Then all to be put into a large personalised display case for his 70th birthday Shocked

This task is proving difficult - good fun - expensive & time consuming Crying or Very sad
