Latest RSE trouble...

Have had the problems with the RRS DVD not playing discs and have been told faulty DVD lense etc etc. got round it by buying a composite lead for iPhone / iPad and hooked this into the rear AV1/2 input which worked a treat. Last weekend discovered that neither of the rear screens are coming on.

Aaargh.

This RSE seemed like a great idea for the kids, but it is a frustration for me when it does not work and a disappointment for the kids.

Any suggestions? Replace the whole lot with aftermarket kit? Kids are now old enough for headphones so playing via car speakers not so critical.

iPad head rest mounts would mean power/headphone cables getting pulled/tangled which is not the preference.

Frustrated Mike

Personally I think IPad's and Bluetooth headphones are the way forward. So much more versatile than the RSE screens - that's what I have for my son, he's 10.
If the IPad's are fully charged, unless you are going on a mammoth journey, there should be more than enough power in them, so no need for leads Question Thumbs Up ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

Thanks Beancounter_74

I'll look into the head rest mounts - I guess for a journey sticking the ipad on flight mode will keep the battery going longer.

Still a frustration that I have a system including the rear screens that does not work. It was great when it did work though.

could you not just route a usb extender cable inside down the seat from the headrest and add power under the seat? You could also plug it in then Smile
