Iron X is good ... if you can stomach the smell.

I would either go with:
Wolfs Decon Gel - A fantastic all rounder - use on bodywork too.
P21s Power Gel - (Pricey but absolutely superb)
Sonex Extreme Wheel Cleaner - (see P21s)

If you use one of the above and then C5, you should be able to maintain them with just car shampoo and water Thumbs Up

For what its worth, before C5 I would:
Use one of the above - probably Wolfs as that is what I have in the garage.
Follow up with some 'Tardis' or other tar remover
Give a quick clay over the surface with an old piece of clay t ensure it was super smooth
Wipe down with IPA (IsoPropyl Alcohol) for a completely clean surface for the C5 to bond too Thumbs Up

PS: You do know that C5 is EXACTLY the same as C1 and C4 don't you (see recent revelation thread over on detailing World). Maybe see if you can find that in stock elsewhere Wink ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

Just to add a little

I would either go with:

Wolfs Decon Gel - A fantastic all rounder - use on bodywork too and can be left to dry unlike Iron X
P21s Power Gel - (Pricey but absolutely superb) I didn't think this was that great
Sonex Extreme Wheel Cleaner - (see P21s) Heard very good reports of this

Not heard that C5 was same as C1, but C5 on gloss black wheels on the wifes is great

An RRS, I doubt it, you'd probably need between 30 and 50ml for the whole car, excluding the wheels awd. Neutral

Worth looking out for the new C1+, which is easier to use/apply. I also recently got C1.5 Silo Seal and that is a superb product Bow down , so much so, I will soon be selling off a few other products I have as I will no longer use them.

Yes, you'd need make sure that you have a clean surface for the C5/4/1 to adhere to. The least would be an IPA wipe down with the ideal being a quick spruce up with P1 or P2 Thumbs Up ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

need to adhere to paint work not a layer of wax, they're products which have been developed for stripping wax, I saw a thread on DW on it not so long ago about one that was a spray on wipe off.

I'm waiting on the C1+ to see how it looks, as well as the Wolf Chemicals new one which offers the same scratch resistance. Till i machine polish the car, i'm sticking with wolfs body wrap thats on
