Hi guys - a newbie here so please be gentle Surprised
There are lots of TLAs here and product names which i dont understand but really want to!
Can someone kindly help me by explaining wgat they are and what they each do? Sorry to be a PITA!
I like my cars to look the part and use old trusties eg Autoglym, Simoniz, Mer and various alloy wheel cleaner.
I know not apt here, but i used to use Renovo for roof of convertible but changed that to Fabsil and sterilising tabs for cleaning.
Thanks guys
Jim

What exactly do you want to understand Jim, happy to help where I can.
To summaris some of the brands in this thread, there is:

CarPro Iron X - this is a spray liquid that you use to remove iron contaminants from paint and wheels. Spray on, let it work, sponge around, then rinse off.
ValetPro Bilberry - A safe dilutable wheel cleaner for all wheels, cost effective and easy to use. Spray on, agitate, rinse.

GTechniq Range Www.gtechniq.com
C1 - Crystal paint coating - can be used on wheels and trim too (dubbed C4 and c5)

C1.5 Silo Seal - a wipe on, wipe off sealant, very easy to use with superb results and very hydrophobic (water resisting) - my new favourite product Thumbs Up

If you really want to find out more, mosey on over to Www.detailingworld.co.uk where there is a wealth of info. If you have any questions, give me a shout Thumbs Up ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

Never used (or heard of for that matter) the wax attack stuff Ady.

To be honest, the Jury is out for me as to whether glazes actually add that much to the finished result. Confused
If its a 'wet' look your after Ady, I'd go for something like Dodo Juice Lime Prime Lite, followed by one of their waxes, maybe Supernatural Thumbs Up
(just make sure you check if they are open at the weekend if you decide to pop by and collect them) Rolling with laughter

Personally, I prefer a sealant look, which allows the pop from the flake in the metallic to shine through Cool
My current favorite is GTechniq C1.5 Silo Seal. ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

Yes ive been looking at the C1.5 but have i read somewhere you can't put it on top of sealant, ive already got supernatural on amongst others, i was just looking for a top up really, my detailer prefers sealants to waxes these days. Thanks for your expert advice as always Thumbs Up

Really, I was lead to believe the C1.5 could be used on, and pretty much over anything Confused

I think sealants are the way forward for daily drivers or people with limited time, and dare I say big cars. I do like the finish a wax gives on solid colours like Black and Red, but for me the durability of a sealant wins hands down. Cool ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i
