United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Zermatt Silver
Paddle shift upgrade on my2010

Hi

Can anyone advise if adding paddle shifters to steering wheel and plugging in, will I then need diagnostics to get working, or will they work straight away?

Thanks MY2010 3.0 TDV6 HSE, Zermatt silver/Ebony/walnut, privacy, side steps, rubber mats and standard otherwise...

I did this on mine you might well need a new clock spring Crying or Very sad
This fits behind your steering wheel and has all the power connections to your wheel you WILL require one with a heated element socket on it if you are putting a heated element on it as well
£250 ish from land rover
And yes you will require a software mod to enable the paddleshift
Did you get the trims ?? RRS MY11 BALI BLUE OVERFINCH

But just for paddle shift you will only require the paddles a loom for the steering wheel and a software upgrade to enable them
you will also need a new back for the wheel ,this will have the cutouts for the paddles Very Happy RRS MY11 BALI BLUE OVERFINCH

To add a heated wheel you will need the heated wheel itself, you will also need to check the "Clock spring /Rotary coupler"
Which is located behind the wheel.
The coupler must have a plug socket on it for the heated element
If you have the correct rotary coupler fitted its just a case of putting the new wheel on
No software update required Thumbs Up Thumbs Up RRS MY11 BALI BLUE OVERFINCH

Give Pete at Bell Autos a shout he might well have a wheel in stock Thumbs Up
He might also be able to tell you for sure about your rotary coupler !!
I know that land rover only supply heated ready couplers in there parts dept.
Therefore if by chance for some strange reason your coupler developed a fault the one they would replace it with would be fine for a heated element Whistle Whistle Whistle Whistle Whistle Whistle RRS MY11 BALI BLUE OVERFINCH

plug and play once you get bits, think you need to run a power wire up to switch, this has been well covered on d3 site

Fitting just the paddle shifters requires nothing more than plugging them in on the right switch pack then enabling them in the CCF. If adding heated steering wheel, thats when you need the new clock spring.

For me the hardest part was removing the airbag, you can but the tool (hook) for £20, I made one out of an old wire coat hanger, bit fiddly getting it in the right place to pull the spring but no major issues. Powerful.co.uk has a good video on hoe to remove the airbag. Don't forget to disconnect the battery.

In addition to the paddles, you will need the loom and also a new rear cowl for the steering wheel with the appropriate cutouts on it.

I am planning on adding the paddle shifters to my 2010 RRS too. My vehicle already has a heated steering wheel, so do I only need the paddle shifters and new rear cowl? Where can I buy the appropriate cowl from (been looking online but haven't been able to determine whether it's the appropriate one or not)?

Is there a link someone can provide for a DIY?
