The common faults are not really engine specific but remember a £25k TDV6 will be younger and probably less miles than a £25k TDV8 |

I just bought my first RRS a 2008 TDV8 and had the same issues. I am so pleased I went for the V8, not because the V6 is not good but because of residuals and a slightly improved spec eg Brembo brakes.

TDV8 has a reputation for killing it's alternator although I've never experienced it myself |

Hi RRS SPY the one Shane sent looks good for that price. I paid £30k for mine which had 39k miles on it but had a few extras.

They'd want to give it "a look over" first, but yes RRS gone

We really need to post up a general sticky of sorts showing a check list of things to check when buying a new car, or someone to write up buying a used vehicle guide......we maybe get 20 people a month buying RRS's and all wanting to know the same issues etc....

after the scandal of Christmas-logo-gate I don't think they are responding to requests to do stuff |

I had the different alloys off the model above the HSE, napa leather, chrome door handles and mirrors, tow bar |

Sounds great although I didn't realise they had two types of leather in the HSE, I thought they all came with the Premium leather. I picked my one up just before Xmas. It is a 2008 (08 ) TDV8 that has the side steps, colour coded wing mirrors and removable tow bar. I think everything else like heated windscreen, fridge, Harman Kardon stereo etc are standard. You might be right about the leather so sounds like the sales guy was good. I also have the side steps which are great and just remembered the clout coded (blacked out) rear light clusters which look great at the rear. |

The HSE is so well spec'd that a savvy salesman can easily enhance the attractiveness of their car to the prospective punter that hasn't done their homework I have to admit, when I first started looking, I was seriously confused as to what was standard and what wasn't. This site was a great help |
