recommendations for aftermarket rear entertainment for 2012

Friend of mine has just ordered his new 2012 (git) but felt the £2,500 rear DVD option a bit too pricey...

Anyone got any recommendations on a good aftermarket system for the 2012 car?

He's got the ivory interior with contrast stitching I think

Good post, I am also interested in one as well but for a 2008 RRS.

Looking around, it is a little confusing as there seem to be a lot of different headrest systems by different manufacturers. Proud owner of a 2008 TDV8 HSE.....and an Audi A3 2.0T DSG Cab and a Porsche 911 Turbo (Mercedes W208 320 CLK and Mercedes W124 E220 Estate now gone)

2x iPad's with headrest mounts and bluetooth headphones? More flexible and can be transferred when you change cars..

In the back of my FFRR I have alpine screens in the headrests, a dvd player in the boot and an iPod connector in the front of the car. This is all hooked up to some dual channel RF headphones so one child can watch a dvd and the other can watch something from my iPhone/wifes iPhone/iPad.

Went with RF headphones as they were more cost effective than paying out for dual channel IR units and there is not the issue of maintaining line of sight for the IR units with the children being quite small and also their seats having large supporting 'wings' around the head area which obscured the signal most effectively.

Rear entertainment is a huge must if you have children Thumbs Up

I was in similar position and just couldn't/didn't want to justify the £2.5k to myself.
I've gone down the Ipad route as we already had 2 in the household. pop it over the seat, attach headphones, job done Thumbs Up

Edit: Simon, I hadn't thought of Bluetooth headphones, will take a look now Thumbs Up ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

Cool, I was wondering the other day if my AV7500 in my FL2 would fit a RRS, depends on the colour of the leather too when upgrade time comes round

I only tend to fit it when we go on longer journeys, which haven't been recently. Next time its in, I'll try and grab a picture. Thumbs Up ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

I take it you dont need to have the seats adapted as they are in the photo?
