Rock Sliders

I currently have the LR side steps on my RRS and whilst off-roading they have touched the ground a few times. My worry is that because they reduce the ground clearance in the middle of the car, one day I am going to do them some damage!

I do not want to just get rid of them for 2 reasons, they are quite handy for getting in and out/reaching the roof and secondly whilst they are not designed to they do offer some protection to the door sills. So I am wondering about replacing them with rock sliders. I have only found 1 company which seem to do them and that is luck8llc.com Does anyone have any experience with these?

My other thought was maybe to take the steps to a metal fabricator to strengthen the undersides to take a bit of abuse. LR Defender 90 - gone
RRS Supercharged HST - gone

RRS SDV6 - current

I looked into the luck8llc.com rock sliders, they look great and I heard a lot of good about them, they also cover part of the underside(compressor) and they do not affect clearance.

Unfortunately they are quite expensive and the shipping is a Killer.

If RLD comes up with something similar I might be interested too. '08 RRS TDV8

Have done, cheers martin. Thumbs Up

Flydive, I thought that they were quite pricey when you include shipping, but like you said they do seem to offer a lot of protection. I'll let you know what RLD says. LR Defender 90 - gone

These look to be absolutely top notch - impressed with the testing to prove them rather than just looking the part:
