Who needs Turbochip?

This will surely add nothing to your RRS except a headache and invalid warranty.

I wondered how long it would take someone to expose the 'plug in' box companies Wink Chips with everything

why isnt a plug in box feasible? Not necessarily this one, but e.g. the powerklick ones, why wouldnt they work. Isnt it an advantage in that they dont get erased everytime the software is updated.

You're right but they are noticable to dealers as they are a physical black box stuck under your bonnet. More chance of being caught and warranty issues.

An ECU reprogram is invisible to both the naked eye and LR diagnostic equipment.

From what I've heard, TC will reprogram FOC if wiped by your dealer.

TC i'll take cash or cheque.... Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad

I don't think it's quite that simple.

It is way down at the back of the engine which is not easy to access, but can be seen is the car was being serviced. Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad

ok, I think thepowerklick ones sit just under the engine cover, but my main point was that you don't have to pay TC to fly over to you in a different continent to remap your car.

And my question was - why wouldnt a plug in box work?

Hey, I don't sell the b Censored d things!

I don't even think I'm having mine chipped.

Plug in boxes do work but there has been a mass-debate [Snigger!] over the pro's and con's of each.

I think you need to do a lot of research before you buy as some work on simpler principles than other and I think there was reference to 'Over-fuelling' the engine which can lead to damage.

As you can see, I don't REALLY understand it all that much but TC would tell you his is the safest method.

But he would say that wouldn't he.......... Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad
