Locking Wheel Nuts/Bolts?

Hi everyone,

Could someone point me in the right direction. i have 5stud 22inch wheels on my 2008 RRS, i am considering purchasing locking wheels nuts/bolts (what is the difference in nut & bolt?) so i was wandering if anyone knew which ones to get. i phoned my local land rover dealer and i was told that because they were 22's i'd have to find them from Halfrods etc....?

so i would really appreciate some help in finding the right ones....

Many Thanks

JT

Is it really necessary? The scallies who'll have your cars up on blocks and be away with your wheels are also the types who'll have the necessary tools to remove the locking nuts. Chances are, it'll be a tyre jockey who'll almost break them on changing with an air gun, leaving you (or the LR assist chap) to fully wreck them when changing a wheel on the side of the road.

Plenty of threads here by people asking how to remove broken locking bolts; none about wheels being pinched from hubs. If you want to spend money on wheel security, look to protect your spare.

as with most crime prevention locking nuts stop the casual crim lifting your wheels but with persistence and the right tools they can be overcome, just as a house alarm can be too. All door locks can similarly be circumvented given the right technique and tools.. but you don't leave your doors unlocked because the casual crim is prevented from having his wicked way Thumbs Up ============

There's quite a wide range of burglars; from addicts looking for cash/small valuables in a five minute rifle to professional gangs who'll strip the premises in a few hours. Your analogy would work if I was advocating leaving the car unlocked. However, those who want to steal £2K wheels will have a £90 bolt tool, along with a vehicle to magic them away. Casual wheel thieves take your spare by cutting the cable in under a minute, not faffing around with a jack & blocks.

Having said that, if LR bolts won't fit, Overfinch or Kahn should be able to supply.
