If this happens from stopped it could be the Electronic Parking Brake not releasing easily Angel.
If you mean that when the car is already moving and you want to accelerate then you are talking about a "flat" spot........... could be that your adaptive gearbox hasn't yet learned your driving style, if you want Eurofighter type get aways, forget it even in Sport mode and change your car for an S/C! A Carbon Footprint is the mark a lump of coal makes when it's dropped on the ground.

Tata TDv8 HSE - Stornoway/ebony and straight grain walnut with towpack, Tasmods and an HST grille. Coming soon LEDs in the headlights
Staying - Epsom Green Defender 90 for playing off road

Angel, unfortunately this is a problem with the TDV6. Every review I've read states this.

Hesitant pick up when overtaking or pulling out of a junction.

Chipping/remapping ECU (Like Turbochips etc.) will cure this. 06 RRS TDV6 HSE, Java/Ebony, PTI, Running Boards, Privacy, S/C Grille/Vents, Stormers, Tasmods, Black Badge Soon...

Still thinking about it but the car makes me adopt such a chilled out driving style that 9/10 I don't feel a real lack of power.

Got a list of priorities Jay.

Got grilles and vents
Got Tasmods

I get this too and it is an annoyance - but Super is right, after a while your driving style will adapt and it will become less of a problem for you. It's a shame you also have the XK really - you don't want to be driving that like you drive your RRS Wink

Angel, if you are talking about a standing start from a junction, then left foot brake, right foot revs rise, then let go of brake quickly.

Be prepared for two things, one, you will get revs right and shoot away very quickly or two, too much throttle with brakes on and engine management will cut engine dead to tickover.

Try a practice start or two to get it right.

If it's on open road for overtaking, then keep steady throttle, knock gearlever across to Sport just as you floor throttle to kickdown switch and it will take off if speed is right.

All relative of course, it's a diesel after all Very Happy

Incidently, if you leave it in Sport mode and really thrash car for a few minutes, throwing it through corners etc , then car will significantly stiffen suspension and alter its throttle characteristics to suit. This really shows up if you do this then slow down to a sedate pace, the car is very stiff and bumps all over the place until management re-adapts.

I've had mine to point where the stability control starts applying individual brakes to get me through corners, most impressive.

Something I've noticed ( ok its a s/c ) is this car is so much better in SPORT mode.... esp. when braking. if left in normal mode when going fairly fast - then want to stop quite quickly it will just leave it to the brakes, but, in Sport...... Blip....Blip.....Blip ......fantastic, it actually changes down beautifully ( great sound/feel ) letting the engine do some of the braking as well..................... Ohhh Yes........ Ohhh Yes Very Happy

I remember JC commentling on this when he test drove the car - that LR had programmed a throttle blip into the S/C ECU............ I think that is one of the other differences between S/C and TDv6's.
Angel - does your XKR do it the same thing in sport mode? A Carbon Footprint is the mark a lump of coal makes when it's dropped on the ground.
