Winch and bar wanted

Just in case anyone has decided they no longer need/want their official LR winch and/or front steel bar - I'm in the market to buy. 'Black Betty' Java Black RRS 07 TDV6

hey Duckers

Am trying to track down the best price on a winch kit so would be keen to find out how many shekels for both purchase and shipping.

Winch kit on it's own is actually around $2500 AUD through LRA.

The front bar, winch and bash plate is $6k package 'Black Betty' Java Black RRS 07 TDV6

I could do the winch kit to you for £1700

Cost to send to AUS via DHL air would be £340 Sophie Alltoft

The $6k included fitting..

Assuming only the basic 10% GST for importing with no other duties/fees, and the current high $ to GBP of approx 1.51 then your price is approx $3.3k just to land it in Oz ((1700 x 1.51 + 10%)+ (340 *1.51)).

How would warranty work Duckers - would you cover new parts and shipping to Aus of in the event of a failure (and return of failed parts if required)?

Yes, you'd need to factor in import duty (should be 5%) before the GST calc - which also needs to include the freight charges for calculation. So something like:

((((1700 + 340)* 1.51) + 5%) + 10%) = $3559.60

Does anyone have a pic of one of these OEM winch bars fitted.

Why not just put a D3 ARB winch bar on - goes on with minimal mods. 07MY RRS TDV6

Hey Garry,

It's been an ongoing battle to get a compliant bar for the Sport.

While people have modified the D3 bar and fitted it to a Sport there are a number of problems with this. The primary isue being insurance.

None of the D3 bars on the market have been through ADR compliance and as such you will void your insurance if you have an accident.

I've lobbied a number of manufacturers unsuccessfully to put their D3 version through compliance but they believe that htere is not enough interest.

Judging by the lackluster response to a previous post to ascertain interest levels, I can see their point. 'Black Betty' Java Black RRS 07 TDV6

I guess you are right - however if ARB had put their thinking cap on at the time they did compliance with the D3 they could have done the RRS as well - the underlying framework is all the same with just a little bit of the plastic bumper area being a bit different.

As far as demand goes - given the similarity to the D3 if there was a bar available I think there would be some demand - it is a catch 22 situation - if ARB built it, it would sell. But then ARB is not one of the more forward looking companies around and would struggle if there were any decent competition.

If the OEM bar is the one I think it is - then no thanks.

Needs a bit of surgery on a bumper and removal of the splashguards at the lower front edge of the wheelarches, which then means whenever you plough through a puddle at the side of the road all the spray gets flung onto the windscreen, rather than being directed down to the side. Ex-G4 Challenge RRS HSE, BV55 YZE. Thanks for that - so it is just a winch bracket not actually a bar. For the price I think I would just get something fabricated.

It's a heavy setup bolted direct to the chassis, winch tray more than bar. Ex-G4 Challenge RRS HSE, BV55 YZE. Subtle shade of orange ! Now registered YZE481 G4RRS in Melbourne.
