We did a day at Coniston Hall, Skipton over on freel2, it was more of a half day introduction course, used their guns and carts, split into 4 or 5 teams each with their own instructor and shot 7 stands scored and winner and looser got a prize, it was a good day out, quite central for northern members to travel too, but not too far from the motorways

There are golf courses nearby too, so member who don't play golf can shoot and those that do have a round of golf, meet up later for drinks and food Question

With coniston having the LRE, there might be something that could be done there too, though they don't allow use of your own car, but it would be good publicity for the LRE and RRSport if there was a photoshoot etc

They stopped their demos when 14 Freelander2 drove past in convoy stared Shocked

Here's a novel idea...

Given that we all have hugely capable 4x4's, why not go to the Parkwood Centre at Tong near Leeds. Have a play around on the less extreme stuff and then those with OCD can have a very happy afternoon detailing their cars back up afterwards Thumbs Up

Id rather not ! . There is no way im going to take y own motor through their course. Ive been before and to be honest there are better places. Smile

I know just the resort that can cater for all these things except the Whippet shooting.......... and they can add a few more things like Falconry, beauty salon for the ladies who don't like golf or shooting and more kids stuff than you can shake a stick at. Beautiful location in the Southern Highlands just off the A9 north of Auchterarder................ The £400 a night room only might be a sticking point for some. 4 Championship Golf courses within the hotel grounds. They have 2 world class restaurants and if you don't fancy them there's a Chinese take-away in Auchterarder............. should be within easy financial reach of all you wealthy RRSport owners and only 9 hours drive from London. Oh and they even have their own Land Rover Experience site in the grounds so you can get a little offroading in too.................. and for those with a private 737, they can cater for that too

Clay shooting for me. Can't see the sense in Golf - hit a ball and then go find it Yawn That's the sort of thing I'd train a dog to do (if i didn't have 6 cats) plus London isn't too far "up North" for us West Country types.

options

I'm up for golf or whatever really. obviously just depends on when it is really.

I think the Devere at either Carden Park, Chester or Slaley Hall, near Newcastle offer a range of activities including golf, quad biking, archery - would need to check if they do clay or not though!

Sounds like both golf and clay pigeon shooting are of interest, since you can only sign up for one in an event it might be worth while whoever is going to organise a golf event and someone for clay pigeons to start an individual events thread for each, that way people could sign up for both Idea
