Juddering Power fold Mirrors

It seems my car does not like being left behind when I go on holiday.

I come back from Barcelona and find the driver's side power fold mirror now judders when folding in and out, worse on the way out.

Beforehand they were both nice and smooth. So, I test it a few times in a row and it just stops working all together. No motor sounds at all. Odd. The car is in my garage at home at this point and I HAVE to fold them in so that I can reverse out... Censored . Shocked

I check the fuse, it is fine. Try again and works again but still juddering. (at least I can get it out the garage now)

Anyone else have this on theirs? L319 D4 HSE

RRUK Idea I seem to remember reading somewhere in my Freelander Embarassed manual that the mirror motors cut out if you use them consistantly to stop them burning out, and they will work again after a short while. Very Happy Arrived - RRSport 2016 HSE SDV6 HSE

i used mine all the time RRUK.. was in the habbit of folding them in everytime i parked the car up.. lower suspension, fold in mirrors.. like we've said before.. its there for a purpose use them..

Mine used to judder in and out sometimes.. but usually in the cold or when they were drenched after a down pour or something.. never really thought anything of it.. we've had a few cars with folding mirrors now, and they all do it every now and then.. and yes cars do sulk if you leave them sitting there for a while! specially if u go anywhere nice and leave them behind!

Good hol btw?

Haven't had this on the RRS yet, but the wife's FL suffers from it from time to time and so did the M3 - although as you know, BMW calls "rotating upwards and saving very little space" folding... Wink

Never spotted a pattern really... spot of WD40 in the joints?

My juddering mirrors have cured themselves, perhaps it was because I told it I thought it was a really great car and I didn't want an M5 afterall.... L319 D4 HSE
