Jack up for wheel removal

I had a new tyre fitted at Kwik Fit. With the car on normal road height, the fitter switched on the hazards and jacked up the front of the car without the usual massive wheel drop. He said that the hazards fool the computer and doesn't allow the suspension to extend - he was doing this because he didn't want to pay for a new air suspension unit! It worked a treat This was on a 59 reg RRS. Worth a try folks. Smile now - RRS Silver 59 HSE 3.0
replaced - RRS Stornaway 07 HSE 2.7

Not heard that - but do know if you but it to extended it doesnt let the suspension drop.

Are these both options? Mike

The instructions in the MY11 manual say the vehicle must be in extended mode before jacking up, as mentioned by mse.

Just to add. I've had the RRS jacked up twice for changing winter tyres on and off. On both occasions only selecting extended mode was used, no hazard lights no boot or door open and no problems afterwards. Of course I'm not implying this is relevant for different or earlier models, just that Landrover may have made some subtle not very obvious improvements which benefit users. Thumbs Up
