United Kingdom 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Alaska White
Low Coolant Level

Just had car returned from dealer for 4th time re. above warning display and no liquid in expansion tank. 1st visit tank and sensor changed, 2nd and 3rd air lock cleared. This time dealer kept car longer and posted LR by e-mail for technical assistance. LR replied "looks like you have an air lock" - think the dealer had worked that out already for himself! Today dealer vacumn filled coolant system which removed more air - fingers crossed.

Really excellent car otherwise but check out my signature if you are thinking of buying one. OWN A D3 AND A RRS.

I assume you are already aware of the TSB on the low coolant level warning? I was having this problem when I bought my used 2006 RRS, but took it in, mentioned that TSB, and they fixed it with no problems since.

Is the TSB on the net somewhere?

Have had my RRS in to the dealers twice now to fix the low coolant message, with no success.

There was a problem with the coolant expansion bottle on early models of the RRS and these needed replacing - I doubt a 2008 model will have this problem as this should have been sorted by now. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

ive seen low coolant level twice in the year of ownership and had to top it up a small amount each time (checked level visually and it was at the lower line of the fill range). Reckon ive got an issue?. Obviously not a sensor issue since it was right but should the car be loosing any water? WINNER - 2008 Best All New Photograph

Shouldn't need to top up too often - you might have a leak.

Depends how much you put in - less than a pint and you should be fine. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
