Brave man - Ive often wondered but was too afraid to ask.

And no I couldn't find it in the f'g manual.

I seem to remember it might be some kind of 'limp home' mode? FF 4.4 V8 Soooo looking forward to this bad boy

Shocked Don't press it, it is the self destruct ....
it is for the forward alert it lets you know if there is anything in front of the car, the range that it works at can be adjusted the same way as with the cruise control distance setting. Sons of dogs come hither and get flesh

It's the switch for the Forward Control Alert:

TFM wrote:
Forward alert

Limited warning of vehicles ahead is provided during ACC operation by the ACC DRIVER INTERVENE warning. The forward alert feature additionally provides warnings whilst ACC is not engaged; if a vehicle is detected close ahead, then the warning tone and message will be issued. The brakes will not be applied.

This additional feature may be switched on or off using the forward alert switch.

When the indicator lamp in the switch is on, forward alert is active.

The sensitivity of the warning may be changed:

Arrow Press the gap decrease button when ACC is disengaged to display and then decrease the sensitivity of the alert.
Arrow Press the gap increase button to display and then increase the sensitivity of the alert.

Both of these alerts are accompanied by the FWD ALERT <----> message in the message centre.
