RRS clutch life

Going to view a possible new car tomorrow and just been informed its having a new clutch fitted.
Thing is, the car is a 58 with 14.5k miles which to me sounds not quite right.
Abused car or faulty clutch???

It could be that the gearbox/ transmission fluid is contaminated or low and that could cause the same effect as a slipping clutch for an auto gearbox. IIRC LR gearboxes used to be what they termed "Sealed for life" but it has been found that a change of gearbox/transmission fluid after a few years enhances gearbox performance. I would steer clear of a car as new as a 58 plate that is having gearbox problems - they are not common in any automatic Land Rover but they aren't unheard of either! Also is the selling dealer a franchised dealer or a not - as a 58 plate the car might have some LR Warranty left on it. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

Automatics do have clutches, just not as you imagine a manual clutch to be?

Thank you(UK GUY) you took the words right out of my mouth

(Nik) the dealer who told you that where clearly unfamiliar with the Land Rover product and where no doubt trying to hide something more sinister i presume. Current 2007 RRS S/C HST Premium Edition
