Driving down to Brum on Thursday afternoon on the Toll road, stopped off to get a coffee at Norton Cane Services (I think it's called).

Driving out, passed Petrol station and noticed Diesel @ 102.9p per litre!

That would cost well over £80 to fill! Shocked Thud

Worst I saw while away... 105.9p/l in a garage down near Penzance. Absolutely horrendous. In the emails I get from petrolprices.com, you can see the prices go up on almost a daily basis. It's pricing a lot of people off the road this... stupidness, pure and simple. The Tories would guarantee themselves the next general election if they jumped on this and reduced fuel tax. Not that I expect that to happen of course...

Shmoogle, I think you've hit the nail on the head there.

They are pricing people off the road. The flip side to this is as it is with smoking.

The Govt. would be screwed if everyone stopped smoking tomorrow due to revenuse. This would have to be made up elsewhere.

When you look how much money fuel duty raises for Fat tw Censored t Brown if everyone was priced off the road, no fuel duty would mean funding it from elsewhere.

Hold on to your wallets 'cause it's robbing Peter to pay Paul! Income Tax, Alcohol duty etc. etc. Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad
