Door Seals Starting To Come Loose - Can They Be Re Bonded ?.

Hi all

The rubber seals that are fixed to the body of the RRS and act as a weather seal when the doors are closed are starting to come loose (adhesive has failed) in some random areas around the top of the doors. This is made more apparent when the doors are closed as the door frames pull down on the seals.

They aren't completely detached yet so i as thinking of re bonding them but don't want to use something that would damage the paint if they ever need to be removed.

Anyone have this issue and DIY fix it without having to fit new seals ?.

Thanks

Carl

Hello

Ik had the same problem. The dealer tried to fix it with same kit, but this did not work out for me. they had to replace the strip under warrenty. but after few months the new strip came loose again, as they cannot do the job as good as in the factory. If the strip is not placed exactly straight in line, it will become loose again.
If the problem with your car is not very big and only loose on a smal part, just leave it. I still regret it that I wanted to replace this strip, as now the problem is bigger than in the first place.

next week I booked the car at an independent garage to do the job for me again. Hope they can do the job better than my dealer.
