2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey
FBH (again!) - Technical Bulletin Number

I emailed LR Customer services last week about not having a fuel burning heater in the car and hit the jackpot! Here is the reply

Good morning Mr Oliver

The dealership can rectify this for you under technical bulletin no. LS412-001 06 Jan 06

Kind regards

Constance Kane

Subject: Pre heating on TDv6 Range Rover Sport

Good morning,

I have a very early Range Rover Sport SE TDv6 that seems to take an age to
warm up on cold mornings (even longer than my 1996 Defender TDi300). I have
read on various internet websites that this engine should have a fuel
burning engine preheater however I am unable to locate it in the position
behind the right (passanger side) headlamp where several of my friends have
them fitted................ my car was fitted with the Cold Climate Pack and
it seems a strange omission when both the Freelander TD4 and the Range Rover
TD6 that I owned both had these heaters fitted. There is no evidence of the
tiny exhaust under the front grille or in the wheelarch.

My Sport has the VIN SALLSAAXXXXXXXXXX
The engine number is 020XXXXXXXXXXXXX
Car Registration is XXXXXXX

Can you advise if I should have a preheater please?

Regards

If anyone can let us know whether this is just a software upgrade or a fitting of the FBH it would be useful. TB you have a few FBH's sitting around in your garage, one of them being mine! Do you know anything? 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

It could well be a software upgrade. I had the softtware upgrade and it has transformed the air con operation and the speed it all warms up. Matt

Too technical for me. Embarassed

I only watch them being built . . . properly . . . sometimes. Whistle Arctic Frost TDV6 SE. Aspen Leather, Cherry Wood, Privacy Glass, PTI, Tow Pack, Mudflaps, Tasmods, a new Fuelflap, a RRSport.co.uk umbrella in the boot & a RRSport.co.uk sticker on the rear glass.

It's not a software upgrade, it is an instruction from LR that says a few cars were built with them missing and if the customer complains that the car takes a long time to warm on cold days then (and only if they complain) an FBH is to be fitted............... I shall be visiting the dealer (again) after the weekend jaunt! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

That's exactly what I complained about....and got a software upgrade. Still, it also did the job too. Matt
