Fitting 17" rims to a TDV6 Sport

Anyone know if there are any issues fitting a set of 17" D3 rims to a 2007 TDV6 Sport?

I seem to recall there being some issues fitting it around the brakes but also thought this was only a problem with the TDV8.

Cheers and thx

I think if you have Brembos then it is 18" minimum

I maybe wrong but wasn't there a early bargain basement version of the RRS ion the UK that came with 17" wheels?!

Jimmy

greetings from the whitsundays. One ANZ member who is no longer on the site, "rangie" had 17" on his TDv6, but this had standard brakes. They were modified Holden wheels not D3 ones however, see the piccie

I believe he had to have the centre machined to enable them to fit properly, but not much else

Thanks

PS might be worth PM'ing him, assuming his email link in there still works, and see if he has them, he put them on ebay, but no idea if he ever shifted them

D3 wheels fit no problem on standard TDV6, was going to go the same route but some 18's turned up at good price

Mine has the standard brake pack so no porbs fitting the 17's.

Ended up ordering a set of 17 x 7 steel wheels (dynamic)and a set of serious muddies in the form of 245/70/17 Cooper STT's.

They are a fraction narrower than the standard but this should help cut through the mud holes. Am planning on running them for off-road trips and switching to the original road rubber for everyday highway driving.

These things have seriously deep tread patterns and look great on the car.

Am heading down to the Landy Expo tomorrow and will get some pics to post then (only had the tyres fitted this morning and have spent the rest of the day detailing the car - bitch of a job when every other day is spent covered in mud)

Must give a huge shout out to O'Neills Tyres at Cessnock for the help hey gave me on the car.

They were the guys who originally helped me fit the Cooper Zeon LTZ's (285/60/18's) and organised both the new rims and tyres in one order and fitted them for me gratis. If you ever need any help with your gear - give them a call and tell them Jamie Gilmore sent you Wink

Will be testing them out seriously next week with 6 days of deep creeks, mud holes, rocky low range climbs and rock crawling planned for the school holidays.

Will report back on their capabilities mid Oct.

Here's a pic of the car set up with all of the off-road kit.
