Coolant Consumption and Topping off Question

My coolant reservoir dropped down about 12-16oz low. I had to top it off. The car is 2.5 years old and 15K miles...is this abnormal? Should I be worried? I would think in a closed system it shouldn't really drop off that much at all.

Second question while topping it off, I accidentally opened the small bleeder valve on he expansion/reservoir tank for the coolant. It drained the coolant at the top of the reservoir back down. When I start the car, would this introduc air into the system?

this is the bleeder valve I accidentally unscrewed.

That is the coolant expansion tank bleed screw.

With the engine running, keep the coolant to the upper level mark of the expansion tank until a steady stream of coolant is seen returning to the expansion tank. Tighten the expansion tank bleed screw.

Regular coolant loss could be because of hoses, hose connections, radiator, water pump, heater core, gaskets, engine casting cracks or engine block core plugs. If there are no visual leaks, carry out a pressure test. Malaysia Boleh!
