Any tips for fitting iPod/iPhone in MY2010 cars?

So, I've taken delivery of my new MY2010 TDV6 and I'm absolutely delighted with it....fantastic car.....that is, except for the silly tray in the cubby box that's supposed to be home to your iPhone or iPod. This little tray isn't fixed in but just sits at the top of the cubby and it's a pain to have to keep moving it and the phone when you want to get into the cubby box. It would have been much better to fit some kind of clip/retainer to the inside of the lid of the cubby box. I'm thinking of velcro'ing the back of my iPod classic and sticking it to the lid. Has anyone come up with an alternative or better solution?

Thanks 2010 TDV6 SE Nara Bronze

That's what I did, works fine. Don't use regular velcro. Use the superlock stuff, sometimes called Dual-Lock. It lasts longer, and holds more firmly.

That's what I've done too. My iPod classic is kept for the car these days and is attached to the lid with Velcro. WINNER - 2009 ‘Just Doing What It’s Designed To Do’ Award

My iPod touch lives velcroed to the dash but then I only have a 2009 without the super duper interior. Works well for me for music and music videos.

Don't know about the 2010MY RRS but in the older cars the plastic tray could be attached to the underside of the hinged bit by opening the lid and sliding the plastic tray into the clips on the underside of the lid. - at least in my 2007 TDv8 I would have been able to had not 2 of the clips not been broken at some time. Then your plastic tray will left with the cubby box lid 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

ipod spot.

Let me know how you et on - though as I am in the same spot, and can learn from your experience.

What do u mean by cubby box. If between the seats - beneath I have the small fridge. So that won't work when that is on.
