Bluetooth quality not great

I have a MY10 and a Nokia 2630. The phone connects to the car via BT almost instantaneously and the phone book, call register, etc are readily available. The issue is that the call quality is poor. The phone is in my pocket next to the driver's door. Are some phones better than others for BT quality or do I have to move the phone towards the centre of the car? I can change to a Siemens phone if I must. I confess I haven't tried various options yet - I thought I'd see what ideas might come from the forum first.

Thanks for your ideas. Thumbs Up Every silver lining has a cloud

Do you hear any improvement if you take the phone out of your pocket and put it in the cup holder in the centre console? I find the quality of the call is better when the phone is there (its excellent in fact) rather than the phone being in my pocket. I put that down to the mobile coverage rather than a bluetooth issue. WINNER - 2009 ‘Just Doing What It’s Designed To Do’ Award

I'll have a go when I'm next in the car, Richard. My previous car was a Merc with integrated phone, so my set-up was that the last phone to connect to the network (the car phone) was the one that would take the calls. That meant I could jump in the car without bothering about whether I remembered my phone when I got out at the other end of my journey. If I put the phone on the dash in the RRS I'll forget it for sure.

I'll let you know how it works ... I'm away for a couple of days. Thumbs Up Every silver lining has a cloud

Its only if my phone rings I take it out of my pocket to make sure it has a clear reception. It seems to help. WINNER - 2009 ‘Just Doing What It’s Designed To Do’ Award

I gave up using the bluetooth to make and receive calls. People either couldnt hear what i was saying or there was a terrible echo. Just plug my iphone ear plugs in now. Poor Sad

Just lucky I guess. But does beg the question, if skids can get Bluetooth to work flawlessly, why doesn't it work in a 55k rrs? And why will I probably buy another one. Reckon I must be thick Sad

I have to say mine works perfectly! With the first MY10 I had it occasionally didn't pair but the recall software update cured that. WINNER - 2009 ‘Just Doing What It’s Designed To Do’ Award

No improvement when I put the handset on the centre console. Sad I guess that the phone and the car just don't get on very well. I'll change over to the Siemens handset at some time soon and let you know if it improves.

The LR BT modules in any of their cars is horrendous to say the least. The call quality is dreadful. Evil or Very Mad

D3, F2, RR and RRS.....had them all and they all are turds in communications circles. The Parrot kits in other cars I have are far, far superior. Thumbs Up L322 Big Daddy SUPERCHARGED 5.0 Autobiography - Here & Now!
