22 inch wheels - are these any good

Hi All,

Been thinking of fitting 22 inch wheels. Currently have 20" Stormers needing 4 new tyres. After a bit of surfing came across this link.

http://www.wheelworx.net/acatalog/Land_rov...heels.html

OK my car is out of warranty, I don't go off road - basically I cruise up and down the motorways 20K miles per year. So are the stormer style 22 inch wheels a definate no no or should I give these a try.

A visit to my local dealers they had 2 RRS and a Disco all on 22 inch wheels.

I guess the choice of tyre size should be 285/30/R22 to maintain the same rolling road diameter as my current 275/40/R20.

285/30/R22 = 729.8 mm diameter
275/40/R20 = 728 mm diameter

Any thoughts ?

Very Happy

Dont get 22"s friend. You will wreck the rims within 1 month. Go near a kerb and they are gonezville arizona. Then you'll be left with f***ed up wheels and £800 worth of tyres that you cant use cause youve decided to go back to your 20" Speaking from experience..... Sad

I have only got 20Inches on my RRS but from previous Audi A6 experience is that the tyres you get with deals like this are shocking quality and you will find no grip or stability pushing you into new tyres for your new alloys or new tyres for your old alloys. Save your self the cash and buy the new tyres for your old alloys and save your cash

I have 22" alloys and the ride difference is not noticable from 20"

I have also had them for 3 months now and not had any problems with kerbs

IMO you either like them or dont, there is no massive difference its persoanl choice,

saying that I need to swap mine for 20's to have my car serviced as dont think warranty covers anything above 20"
