First car-share lane to be built

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/bradford/4822808.stm

Did you see this on this morning's news? They are planning to make a 1 mile stretch of the M62 a car share lane. I thought I'd woken up this morning and lost a week, as it seemed like an April Fool's joke.
The idea that making one lane (the hard shoulder) a car share only lane will cut traffic congestion is a joke, when currently 84% of all the cars on this stretch have only one occupant. And they are going to spend tax payer's money on this!!! Twisted Evil Matt

RRS ownership for 1 yr, then D3 for 2 yrs. Then cut back to old bangers and working my way back up through two Peugeots in 6 months. Now got Saab 9-5 2.3t and enjoying the performance!

It's just another example of the world gone mad. Banging Head

What do they hope to achieve by introducing such a hair brained scheme? Arctic Frost TDV6 SE. Aspen Leather, Cherry Wood, Privacy Glass, PTI, Tow Pack, Mudflaps, Tasmods, a new Fuelflap, a RRSport.co.uk umbrella in the boot & a RRSport.co.uk sticker on the rear glass.

Yeah, heard this on the news... if they're going to test carpooling then fine, but what sort of result can they expect to get from a single 1-mile stretch of all the UK's motorways. Usual crap idea from the govt.... Rolling Eyes

But don't forget they are going to introduce another in 2008. Down near London, so maybe they can link the two stretches together. Shocked Arctic Frost TDV6 SE. Aspen Leather, Cherry Wood, Privacy Glass, PTI, Tow Pack, Mudflaps, Tasmods, a new Fuelflap, a RRSport.co.uk umbrella in the boot & a RRSport.co.uk sticker on the rear glass.

MDP, this works fine for me.

I'm a single occupant whilst commuting to and from work so this would make my journey a lot quicker. Thumbs Up
