United Kingdom 2009 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey
Roof bar fitting

Hi,

Collecting a set of Land Rover roof rails and cross bars for my sport from the dealer next week. Are they easy enough to fit?. Dealer thinks the roof rails need to be fitted by them.

Thanks. 2009 Stornaway Grey HSE

You can get the instruction from the Land Rover website, the roof has to be drilled which is why they think they have to do it. Also if the dealer fits them then you get a 12 months warranty 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Ah thanks. Mine is a 2009 model and it does look like it has rubber bungs already in the roof. Would it still need drilling?

Thanks 2009 Stornaway Grey HSE

No drilling required on the 09 model...on prior years, yes.

It's a very simple install...just make sure not to bend the alumin(i)um strips on the roof...bolt in the rails and then put the cross bars on.

A bit of WD40 or other light lubricant makes the cross bars slide easier once in the rails to position them in their slots.

England 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 Autobiography Fuji White

HiMate - fitted mine last week. They are ok to fit, I have a 57 plate and this didn't need drilling although the instructions said it did. The only problems I had were that one of the screw holes didn't line up just right with the slot so I had to file it and also that the black plastic screws didn't come out easily.

They look great on though - you pretty much don't notice them and also the Thule bike carriers slot on too which is an added bonus.

Good luck
