Problem with removable Tow Ball

I can't seem to get my removable Tow Ball unit to fit into the receptor. It goes in and appears to click in place
but the green lock handle doesn't completely cover the red indicator ring and therefore I can't lock the unit and
remove the key! I have made sure there is no crap in the mechanism and I have used as much force as I can to push the unit up, but I still can't get it to fit. I have also checked that the locking mechanism on the Tow Ball all works perfectly off the car, so it has to be a fitting issue. Anyone had this problem and any ideas how to resolve it Confused 2013 Discovery HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black

Finally got the damn thing to locate properly! Took much pushing & wiggling and a few choice words combined with a kick & then it suddenly clicked in to place. Thumbs Up The problem seems to be the big locking bolt that pops out the rear of the unit and is obviously a very neat fit with it's receptor hole. 2013 Discovery HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black

Lespes, in case you weren't aware, the key should not be able to be removed from the lock unless tow hook is fitted,(or you trigger it as if it were fitted), and in the locked position. Wink Hope that's not too late, and that you haven't busted it . RRS TDV8 Buck Blue (no, not now in my dreams). ..........D3 TDclankety clankV6 ............BMW 318i
