They should bloody privitise these public services.. they would cost a lot less then paying the bunch of scrotes who run these councils..

£2000 for one household.. where do our 40% income tax go!!?
If you and the people in you road/estate all put this money together, you could probably buy a van and hire one/two guys to carry out these services for you, and have a 24 security patrol.. and look after the roads a lot better!

let alone 40% capital gains... ?
Don't get me started on inheritance tax..!!

...not just your bins. Don't forget paying for all them speed bumps and 20mph zones. ...and keeping all those schemes going which support the local low life and drug addicts and unemployable scrotes off the street.
...and for all those nice flowers planted in the beds in the centre of the town roundabouts. Steve N | 21MY Defender (on order) | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

I lived in London for the past 2 years and since you bring it up, I have to tell you guys I never quite understood why I had to pay £1500 for the C.T on top of the already very high rent. RRS S/C,Bonatti Grey,Ebony Interior,Lined Oak Finish, Rear Lock Dif, DVD,Sunroof,ACC

Okay, I'm guessing that "bins" are the same as our garbage cans? If this is so we pay $45.00 every two months and they are emptied each week. You guys need to drop us an occasional hint when you get on a "rant" about a subject so we can better enjoy the jocularity, BTW, could not help noticing your steering wheels are on the wrong side, how do you possibly manage Wink

VA - £2100 for Council tax, my goodness you get off lightly, I live out in the sticks, have a 2 bedroom bunglow and get a 50% discount for being single and pay nearly that much. Most of it is just for the dubious privildge of having that montorous carbuncle in Edinburgh and all the super services that the MSPs get out the tax payer such as free creches, free offices, free pensions, free pay-offs when they don't do their jobs properly (do civil servants and council employees ever get "sacked" these days, they seem to get EXTRA pay when they have to "leave for family reasons" ) ......... I could go on and on and on but it just makes me more and more angry to see my CT increase at a faster rate than my salary (mine was 1% this year and even with a promotion, the rise of CT was more).

I often wonder though, who is the fool....... I could stand for election and have all expenses paid trips all over the world courtesy of the tax payer instead of having to work to travel! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
