Anyone heard your vehicle has 'taken a dowmload'?

Hi, just a question with regards to a different thread i started (cold morning starts). The vehicle is back in the garage as i pointed out due to rough cold morning starts (possibly the other EGR Valve), but since the weather has improved slightly it has started without a problem. This is very frustrating as the car is now in the dealers. They contacted me today to say there was no diagnostic messages and everything seemed ok. The only thing they did mention was that 'it took a download' whatever that means. Can someone enlighten me on what they meant by 'it took a download' because the lady i spoke to wasn't very technically minded. They have kept it to check tomorrow morning on start up. Help! Please

Hi
I think it means that they have put a soft ware update on the car. someone will surely come along and clarify soon.
Mine had the same problem with starting and it was the dreaded EGR valves had them both changed and now its fine. Smile 2017 Range Rover Sport SVR

Hi JB it's just been in for the same problem and they replaced one EGR valve. They tell me now that there are no signs of failure flagging up on the other EGR on the diagnostic machine except this download update. Are they taking the pi Censored ss because suddenly the car has started to perform better all of a sudden?

The performance is greatly reduced by Faulty EGR valves.
This is a common problem with the D3 and RRS. i have had landrover assistance out to me three times with the same fault.
Once they had changed both valves it was like driving a different car. Smile 2017 Range Rover Sport SVR

Would the fault with the EGR Valve not be as apparant with warmer weather? As i stated, the weather has improved and the startup issue improved just a few days prior to it going into the garage. I sense they are trying to bull:censored:it me at the dealership. These vehicles certainly need an understanding owner with shed loads of patience.

Quick Update. Car back from the dealers tonight and they claim the EGR valves are both ok (new one fitted three weeks ago or so) but they have run an update on the software which controls the valves. I can only trust there judgement and see how things go..... does this sound likely to solve the issue?
