(i go on there every now and again to big'up the RRS & RS4 and convert as many as possible to LR & Audi - doing my bit for the residuals!)

Take a look at this link, as Bmw have announced some cripling extended warranty prices, many owners are cheesed off, and they have mounted what i can only describe as a campaign against Bmw and have managed to obtain key email addresses and are asking all owners old/new to email Bmw against this move and hopefully they will reconsider.

With this move by Bmw, it may cause a market acceptance of this stance and may cause other manufacturers to do the same, so guys please put in your 2p worth just to add this campaign some strength and put more pressure on. Without extended warranties, what will we do! be forced to change cars a lot sooner and devalue used cars, thats what!

They refer to warranties as insured warranties now, and will be charging excesses at claim time, on top of annual 12 month cost of renewing the warranty. Somehow used M3's don't seem such a good proposition anymore, so new cars approaching the 3 year mark will devalue significantly.

Don't be abusive or lie blatently though. Trying to keep this as legit as possible. See link below, become a member if necessary its a very large community spanning across all the Bmw Range.

I thought for a minute this was for the original warranty and was about to get very angry!!! Even so, it's taking the pi** on quite a large scale...

Some of the replies they have had from Bmw are quite funny, basically saying, we don't care, if you go elsewhere, you'll be back.

Personally i think this is the way things are going to go with most manufacturers, think residuals are going to keep on sliding and sliding and its just going to keep getting worse and worse, models keep changing quicker, too many alternatives to choose from, and the market is just getting more competitive meaning you won't justify the outlay. Well for people like me who tend to change cars every year anyway.. I guess i'll either have to stop this stupid behaviour, or just earn money quicker! i'd prefer the latter to be honest.
