I use the paddles a lot.

Mainly use them when the car hasn't warmed up just to reduce stress on engine/gearbox, moving from lights/ standstill and when looking to overtake. 2014 L405 SDV8 RR Autobiography Cool

Hi Guys, I have just got this off eBay to fit to my MY11. I have the IIDTool to activate them etc.

Is this all I'll need to get them fitted, I ask because the loom, where it will connect to the rotary coupling, looks a little short to reach through the steering wheel to the connection socket.

I have not seen inside the wheel yet, so hopefully one of you guys has done this before and can throw some light on it for me.

Will it need an extension lead fitted?

Can anyone advise.

Help, the Censored that I brought the bits off (picutre above) lost the rear steering wheel cowl/shroud/cover so sent me something that is definately not the right part. Despite getting in touch the seller has not managed to resolve this. I have googled for the correct part numbers, but no joy whatsoever.

Does anyone know the part number for the rear plastic cover for the paddle change steering wheel?

All Fitted

So the paddle changers are all fitted and working, without some problems:

I brought the specific L/R screws to attach the paddle changers to the steering wheel, (chose them of a parts diagram showing them entering the paddle switches). The screws sent were the wrong length, he first on snapped off in the casting..... Luckily I had some self tappers lying around, just not black anodised.

The loom had to be fitted into the left switch pack (I was told the connection was to the right side), at first I thought I'd been sent another dodgy part, as when I brought the kit they sent the wrong rear steering wheel cowl. After a bit of looking around I noticed the socket on the left side.

Programmed the CCF and all works fine now.

What Now

Hi all, so the paddle change has worked well for a month or so, today they decided to stop working. If i use them immediately after setting off they will work for a while, if i dont, then they wont work at all.

This morning the down shift worked but the upshift wouldn't i then got a gearbox fault warning....

Plugged in the IIDTool and was presented with the following:
TCM-Transmission 6spd
U0140-68 (2C) Lost communication with body control module - Algorithm based failure - event information

BCM-Body Control
B112B-96 (2C) Steering wheel module - Component failure - internal failure

Anyone with any ideas.
Should I try disabling then re-enable them? Or, with the stering wheel module failure, should i take it all apart to check for a bad connection?

Has anyone come across this before? I'm hoping its an easy fix...........
