Sat Nav Screen problem

Hi, anyone ever had their Sat Nav screen go really really dim, so can hardly be seen? I can't even see it to try and turn the brightness setting up. Am hoping to just leave the car standing for a while and hope the glitch fixes itself like so many other times where gremlins appear...

Anyone got any other ideas? I will wait til night time to see if I can access it then...

I used to get this on my 2007 RRS. Mentioned it several times to dealer and despite several "software fixes" it never really got sorted. It was very intermitant though and always resolved itself. I always suspected it may have been to do with it not reading the ambient light conditions properly & putting itself into night mode or something. 2013 Discovery HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black

I had one occasion on the first RRS where it did not light at all - usual ctrl alt delete sorted it...

On this one i notice it really dimming at night and when lights are turned on but never too dim to view - i didn't realise it read the light level - just thought lights on dimmed to a preset level Question

Thumbs Up your post triggered another old memory - ISTR it being really really dim one day when very very cold - put it down to that at that time Confused

Had it happen on my 2007. The dealer pulled the car apart looking for a squashed wire or a break in the circuit, upgraded the software and hoped the screen would fix itself. Eventually they replaced the screen with a new one which sorted the problem
