Insurance: Younger Driver

Mornin'

From experience, can anybody recommend any specialist insurance companies for younger drives on RRS's?

The general Confused.com etc etc is coming up with some crazy figures. Confused

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I'm feeling the need to join the RRS Owners Club, shortly.

Thanks. 'Not one singe person on this earth can change their past, but, every single person on this earth can start today and change their future.'

Likewise, they always worked well in the student/young market. After them I went a broker called Insurance Supercars who I think were a Cofield "imprint", so to speak... they helped a 22yr old Shmoogle not get fu**ed over a barrel when he foolishly bought a Hartge 5-series Whistle

That said, in this day and age, insurance for young drivers is never cheap...

That's who I'm with at the moment....very little overhead so they can keep the costs down.

United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Java Black

Have you read the small print from SWIFTCOVER!!!! I too was tempted to take out a policy with them until, a friend in the Insurance industry stated that the authorisation of repairs are done at a really low cost.

Example: Car has an accident: Ring Land rover who accept vehicle to be taken to their approved bodyshop. (customer has the right to choose where their car is going to be repaired)

Swiftcover would usually send the vehicle to one of their approved garages(with cheaper labour and cost of repairs)

Now once Land rover give you estimate of damage swift cover will compare how much it would of cost them to repair it on your behalf:

Land rover cost £4000

Swiftcover cost £2800

Swiftcover will only authorise upto their cost!!!!

Leaving you £1200 out of pocket!!! (unless you use their repair centre, who probably have never seen a range rover sport apart from on TV!!!)

Shocked
ALWAYS READ THE SMALL PRINT!!!

That said, i know of three/four main dealers, if your car is in for bodyshop work it is carted off to a small backstreet trader who does all the paint and bodywork for the dealers and sends them back over when they are finished. You will find many 'prestige' brands sitting in this guys muddy yard awaiting repair! Any insurance approved VAT registered repairer will have to get the car right or up to standard to keep the contract going. Very often they will call in LR specialists if they don't know what they are doing with certain elements of the repair/diagnostics..

I was with Budget insurance for my first car, then my first Bmw when i was 19 was with Eagle Star (Zurich) and from then on, Directline/Privilege i cannot get any better quote and have been with them since 2002!
