It just means that if your car is in the garage for warranty work or general servicing then LR may or may not update you car's engine management system.

I cant understand why JE is mentioning it??? Wink Chips with everything

Interesting, but I wonder what will actually be tuned. I don't think LR is going to change major engine specs after less than year of production, or will they?

TC, I think JE is mentioning it for exactly the reason you have provided - "LR may or may not update ..".

Now that the forum members are aware of this upgrade, thanks to JE, anyone whose car is in the garage for any kind of work can INSIST on this upgrade. Thats assuming that these updates are of benefit, of course. Wink Wink Malaysia Boleh!

Thanks JE.

There is a suggestion that the software patch addresses a starting problem in extreme cold temperatures i.e. -20C

I am reliably informed that this patch will over-write any upgrades that have been applied.

Any LR update will overwrite a previous version of software unless the version of software in the car is current. That is why our diagnostic software is designed to identify the software in a car before we start our upgrade then we upload the latest version of LR software (e.g WDS Disc 13) with the TC upgrade 'on top' of the LR software thereby reducing the chances of LR having to update the car.

I know superchchips cannot do this but I would imagine JE can...perhaps someone could let forum members know? Chips with everything

Yes, we also have that ability to upgrade software and do it whenever necessary.
Its good working practice for those involved in tuning ecu's.
